On December 7, 2021, all MO schools received a letter from Attorney General, Eric Schmitt. We have consulted with legal counsel regarding the Board of Education's authority to adopt rules and regulations related to communicable diseases (MO State Statute 167.191 & 160.011). Our goal is to keep students and staff members safe and healthy, and to keep as many students as possible in seats learning.
Effective immediately, based on current rulings in the state of Missouri, the local health departments will not be enforcing students to quarantine from the school setting. Monett R-1 will partner with parents/guardians to exclude Covid-19 positive individuals during their 10 day contagious period. The Monett R-1 School District expectation is that staff and parents will continue to notify the district of any positive Covid-19 test results.
The Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan has been updated in response to the Attorney General's letter and the Cole County Circuit Court judgment.
If you have questions regarding this current change, please contact your child's respective school office.
