August 17, 2021: Shared updated Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity Plan.

Based on recommendations from the CDC, Barry, and Lawrence County Health Departments, masks will be strongly recommended for the Monett R-1 staff and students for the 2021-2022 school year. However, due to the high positivity index in Barry & Lawrence County as of August 24th through September 3rd, the first two weeks of the 2021-2022 school year will be mandatory masks. If the number of positive covid cases combined with the number of quarantine cases meets or exceeds 8% in each individual building, masks will be required. If those combined numbers fall below 8% masks will be strongly recommended, but not required. Each campuses’ data is reviewed independently, meaning masks could be required in one campus but not all campuses.

If the Community positivity rate averaged in Barry and Lawrence counties reach or exceed 10%, the entire district will mask until that number falls below 10%.

  • Masks will be required on Monett R-1 School transportation

  • Masks will be optional when outside

  • Masks will be given to students in the health offices exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms and should be worn until the student is picked up.

  • Visitors will adhere to the mitigation measures of each building
