The Monett Early Childhood Center (MECC) was awarded a $5000 grant from Arvest Bank to create a motor lab for pre-k and kindergarten students.

Implementing a motor lab for all PreK & K students attending the early childhood center will positively impact both academic and social-emotional areas. While gross and fine motor activities are embedded into early childhood instruction, a comprehensive and scheduled approach will allow all students to progress across multiple developmental areas beyond basic gross motor skills, such as sensory integration, visual motor integration, reading, writing, behavioral, and adaptive skills.

The $5000 grant for the motor lab was awarded by Lisa Schoon, Kelley Carr, Chad Evans, Shannon Brewer, and Austin Hyslip from the Monett Arvest Bank branch. Kayla Roderman, Jenifer Graves, and Dr. Mark Drake were present to receive the Arvest grant.
