Dear Monett Family,
The Monett School District is eagerly awaiting the return of our students on August 24, 2021. The staff at Monett has been working diligently to prepare for the start of school. Our priorities are to keep people safe and make sure that we grow students academically, socially, and emotionally.
The District continually monitors Covid. The District is in constant communication with the Barry and Lawrence County Health Departments. The District has surveyed staff and parents to gather feedback regarding Covid-19. The District has also assembled a committee of various Monett employees, parents, students, community members, and doctors. This committee will meet at least every six months to discuss our Safe Return to Learn Plan.
The District believes through community input and collaboration with our health departments that we have a plan to start the school year off in an effective way. The world of COVID-19 is continually evolving, and we are determined to educate our students in the best way possible. We realize that the last 18 months have been extremely difficult for everyone and that stress levels continue to be high. With that being said, we would like to assure everyone that we are trying our best to meet the needs of everyone.
We ask for staff, students, parents, and community members to support the developed plan. As always, the District will continue to gather feedback from the community and is always available for questions or concerns. We ask that you continue to extend patience, understanding, and grace to the District that has been demonstrated over the last 18 months. We are truly blessed to have a community that works together and supports the school district.
We are excited for the school year to start and will give our best to protect and educate all. Thank you for your willingness to trust our District.
