In Gov. Parsons recent Press Release, proper mask wear is now being considered in the quarantine process. "This means that if both individuals at school - the person diagnosed with COVID-19 and the person exposed to the positive case - have masks on and are wearing them correctly, the individual exposed does not need to quarantine for class only." This does not include sports or extracurricular activities.
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released information on sports and extracurricular activities. “Persons identified as close contacts but not required to quarantine for school, per the modified guidance, cannot continue to participate in sports or other extracurricular school-related activities. This modified guidance does not authorize a close contact to participate in a school associated sports, extracurricular activities, or any other activities outside of the school setting. Other than attending school, close contacts should continue to quarantine.
The following information includes winter Covid-19 restrictions and spectator guidelines for sports.
Please understand that our primary goals are:
The safety of our students and community.
The ability of our students to continue to attend in-person school daily.
Help ensure that our student-athletes have the opportunity to compete and complete their athletic seasons with as few interruptions as possible. We believe that these guidelines will aid us in achieving these goals.
We ask that you PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND if you are sick or generally not feeling well.
All spectators are required to have a proper face covering when coming through the pay gate to enter to protect our ticket takers.
All spectators required to have a face covering when using the restroom or ordering at the concession stand and walking about the stadium area or gymnasium and lobby areas.
Students will be required to wear face coverings at all times.
Selected bleachers are labeled no seating for spectators.
Families/groups should sit together and socially distance from other families/groups. Once seated, spectators may choose to remove face coverings while seated in bleachers. Bleachers have been extended to allow groups to socially distance. Please allow six feet of separation from other families. Face coverings may be removed when seated in the bleachers only and socially distanced from other families.
When gym capacity will not allow for appropriate social distancing, administration may require masking at all times.
No gatherings will be permitted on the court at the conclusion of any event.
Our goal is to put in measures possible to protect our patrons and allow us to hopefully continue to play sports and have activities all school year. Please be RESPECTFUL to all involved. Thank you for helping us achieve our goals!
