After closely monitoring the weather forecast throughout the day, we have made the decision to move tonight’s graduation ceremony indoors.
We know how special this evening is for our seniors and their families. This is not the decision we had hoped to make. Earlier this morning, we were hopeful that conditions would allow us to hold graduation outside at Burl Fowler Stadium. However, based on the latest forecast information and the uncertainty surrounding the weather, we feel it is best to move the ceremony indoors.
Events of this magnitude involve many moving pieces, and while we would have preferred to wait longer before making a final decision, there are significant preparations and logistical adjustments that must take place in advance. Seating arrangements, sound and technology setup, live streaming, traffic flow, and coordinating hundreds of graduates and guests all require time and planning to ensure the evening runs smoothly.
The graduation ceremony will now take place at 7:00 p.m. in the MHS gymnasium.
Each senior received six tickets for guest seating in the gym during practice this morning. For additional family members and guests, the PAC will be open for live-stream viewing of the ceremony, and no ticket will be required for entry into the PAC.
