The Monett School District is proud to celebrate two distinguished achievements by Coach Michael Calhoun, who has been a dedicated leader, mentor, and role model for students and athletes in the district for many years.
This year, Coach Calhoun reached an extraordinary milestone by earning his 300th career victory in baseball, a reflection of his coaching excellence and the lasting impact he has made on generations of Monett athletes. His dedication to baseball and sports in general has fostered not only championship-level teams but also instilled valuable life lessons in student-athletes about perseverance, discipline, and teamwork.
In addition to this historic milestone, Coach Calhoun was also honored as the 2024-2025 Southwest Missouri Middle School Athletic Director of the Year. This recognition underscores his leadership and commitment to creating athletic opportunities that support student growth and success. His work continues to build a strong foundation for future athletic programs in Monett.
“Coach Calhoun’s dedication to our students goes far beyond the field. Through his leadership as middle school dean of students, high school baseball coach, and assistant athletic director, he has made a lasting difference in our district," said Dr. Mark Drake.
The Monett School District extends its deepest gratitude to Coach Michael Calhoun for his years of service, his passion for student success, and his dedicated commitment to the Monett community.
