We are so excited to welcome you back for another school year! As we step into this new year together, let's take a moment to celebrate the heart, dedication, and passion, each of you brings to Monett Schools.
At Monett, we do things ✨The Monett Way,✨ with collaboration, commitment, and connection at the center of everything we do. It’s the way we show up for one another, the way we care for our students, and the way we work together to make a difference every single day.
This year, let’s continue to lift each other up, find joy in the little moments, and keep our students at the heart of all we do. We believe in the incredible work we will accomplish together, and we are so grateful for each and every single one of you.
Let's make this year the BEST YEAR EVER!

We want to thank you for the incredible effort you put into making the first day of school smooth and successful.
The organization, the calmness, and the way you welcomed students from Pre-K all the way to MHS/SRTC, you set a positive tone for the year ahead.
What stood out to us the most was the way everyone worked together, supporting one another and making sure our students felt safe, cared for, and excited to be back in school.
We are grateful to be alongside a caring and committed group of teachers and staff. Tuesday was a beautiful example of what we can accomplish together, and we know it's only the beginning of a great year!

We are proud to celebrate two distinguished achievements by Coach Michael Calhoun, a long-time leader, mentor, and role model in our district.
This year, Coach Calhoun reached an extraordinary milestone with his 300th career victory in baseball. In addition, he was recognized as the 2024–2025 Southwest Missouri Middle School Athletic Director of the Year, an honor that highlights his leadership and commitment to creating meaningful athletic opportunities for our students.
Coach Calhoun’s dedication to both athletics and student success continues to make a lasting impact in our district. His dedication and leadership continue to inspire our students, athletes, and community.

We are proud to celebrate Trisha Henry, Marketing Instructor at SRTC, named the 2025 MEMO New Teacher of the Year by the Marketing Educators of Missouri. Trisha was recognized at the annual MEMO conference held in Springfield in July.
Trisha has made a positive impact on her students and those around her. She brings enthusiasm and high expectations to her classroom, always believing in what her students can achieve. Through her leadership of the SRTC Scotty Store, students are gaining real-world marketing experience, earning industry certifications, and finding success in DECA competitions.
Beyond the classroom, Trisha's leadership and passion for Career and Technical Education inspire both her students and colleagues. We are excited to see the positive impact she continues to make.

Welcome back from your Directors of Learning!
We are excited to see what our Cubs will be learning this year!
Beginning of the Year Star testing is 8/21-9/5 for all 1st-8th grade students. Using data from this assessment, and other BOY formative assessments, remember to set goals for your students. They will reach the expectations we set for them.
Grade level content meetings are back, starting in September. We are excited to meet with each team to continue the vetting process, creating a guaranteed and viable curriculum for our students and teachers.
Shout out to all of the teachers that started the school year strong, establishing high expectations, procedures and routines for your students!
It's going to be a great year!

As we begin the school year, I want to share the best way to get help with ParentSquare. Moving forward, please submit ParentSquare issues to the Help Desk instead of emailing me directly.
Why this change?
-
Faster response time: Our tech department monitors help desk tickets daily, which ensures your request is seen and resolved more quickly.
-
Better tracking: Submitting tickets allows us to keep a clear record of recurring issues, which helps us identify patterns and provide long-term fixes.
-
Streamlining Requests: Right now, your requests come directly to me, which can sometimes cause delays since I don’t have a team dedicated to resolving tickets. Using the Help Desk ensures your requests are handled quickly and efficiently.
I will continue overseeing ParentSquare as a whole, but individual help tickets will be handled more effectively through the Help Desk.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we make this adjustment.

As we continue to highlight the amazing work happening in your classrooms, we want to remind everyone about the importance of sharing content for our social media platforms. Your stories, photos, and updates help us connect with our community and showcase the incredible learning experiences you provide for our students.
Please remember to:
1. Capture Moments: Whether it's a special project, a classroom activity, or student achievements, take a few moments to snap a photo or jot down a quick update.
2. Submit Content: Don’t forget to submit your content to aespinoza@monettschools.org
3. No Photos Poster: If you have students on the no photo list, please post the attached poster outside your door.
Your contributions make a difference! Let’s continue to share the wonderful things happening in our school.

Tech Reminders:
- Please remember that putting in a help desk ticket is your best option for getting tech help. When you send texts or personal emails, you risk the chance of your request getting lost in our inboxes. (email: helpdesk@monettschools.org)
- Remember shutting down your device and completely restarting on a weekly basis will keep it updated and fix more issues than you can imagine.
- Thanks for getting in the habit of locking your computer, or shutting your laptop when you walk away from your desk.
- Please help us preserve the life of your projector or TV by turning them off when not in use.
