Cub House

Cub House

Cub House is a Missouri Comprehensive Afterschool Learning (MOCAL) program that provides students with enriching learning opportunities designed to complement and extend their school-day experiences during non-school hours. At Monett Schools, Cub House offers a variety of high-quality programs and services that support student growth and development, including mentoring, homework assistance, academic enrichment, community service opportunities, and experiences in music, art, sports, STEM, and cultural exploration.

Cub House is Funded by MOCAL

The 21st Century Community Learning grant (21CCLC) was formerly a federally funded program that allowed schools to create and/or enhance after-school programs. With the passing of the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001," ESEA Act, the 21st Century Community Learning Center program transitioned to state control and administration via a competitive grant process.

Due to a highly competitive grant cycle, the Monett Cub House will now be funded through the Missouri Comprehensive Afterschool Learning (MOCAL) grant instead of the 21st Century Community Learning grant. The MOCAL grant is a year-to-year grant continuation. The MOCAL grant will supplement services offered to students and families in our district, including services for privately and home-schooled students, adult continuing education courses, and parent education.

Please note that the MOCAL Cub House grant is only for grades PK-5. The previous 21CCLC grant included grades 6-8, but the MOCAL grant does not.

If your student is not currently enrolled in the Monett School District, an additional enrollment form will be required.

MOCAL Cub House is offered free of charge to all PreK-5th grade students living within the Monett School District.

Cub House Enrollment Information

Cub House has limited enrollment capacity, and available spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis based on the date and time an interest form is submitted.

Due to high demand, all students who submit an interest form will initially be placed on a waiting list while enrollment availability is reviewed. Families of students who are offered a spot in the program will be contacted by phone or email.

Please note that submitting an interest form does not guarantee enrollment and does not serve as an official enrollment form.
