Phonological Awareness:

Fluency:
- Practice reading in silly voices.
- Echo reading (you read, they read)
- Read books together.
- Read books sent home by teachers.
Vocabulary:
- Create a vocabulary list when reading a book.
- Describe new words, using pictures or objects.
- Look up unknown words as you read.
Comprehension:
Ask questions while reading...
- What do you think will happen in this story?
- Who are the characters and what are they doing?
- What happened at the beginning, middle, end?
- Where is the story taking place?
- What caused ____ to happen?
- What is the problem in this story? How did they solve the problem?
