Community Foundation of the Ozarks Grant - Spot Vision Screener

Thanks to the generous grant from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, our district was able to acquire a Spot Vision Screener for the Monett R-1 health department. This handheld device enables us to identify vision problems in students ranging from 6 months to adulthood. The Spot Vision Screener has already proven to be invaluable for our students, from the early stages in the Parents as Teachers program all the way through graduation.

Conducting screenings on students with this device is a breeze, taking only a few seconds to capture readings. It is especially beneficial for those who may have difficulty reading a traditional vision chart or face communication barriers. Now, we can provide parents with printed results and assist them in locating local optometrists to address their child's vision health needs. We know students learn best when they are healthy, and we are very thankful to be able to purchase our vision screener to aid students in having healthy eyes!
