Welcome to Monett Intermediate School! My name is Jennifer Wallace and this is my 1st year as Principal at MIS. I was the Principal at Central Park Elementary (now known as the Monett Early Childhood Center) for the past 7 years and have worked for the Monett School District for 18 years. I love children and enjoy helping them learn as much as they can by helping their teachers be the best teachers they can be.
MIS is the place to be each and every day! Our building currently serves the 4th and 5th-grade students, the classes of 2030 and 2031. We are a 1:1 building which allows each student access to a school-issued Google Chromebook for use in their classes at school and sometimes to complete assignments at home. MIS offers students the opportunity to expand their skill sets and knowledge outside of the classroom through Genius Hour, our after school tutoring and enrichment program. Genius Hour meets Tuesdays and Thursdays after school (3:15pm-4:15pm) and offers extra learning time or enrichment time such as Craft Club, Mindfulness, Student Council, Team Sports, etc.
MIS is a Professional Learning Community (PLC) Exemplary school. This was awarded to MIS in 2015. This means that our teachers and staff work collaboratively to effectively teach our students both academics and non-academic skills in order to be successful members of our school and community. MIS takes pride in modeling what we want from our students and, through the PLC model, our teachers and staff are constantly learning and improving new skills and information.
We do our best to keep our families informed of important information regarding MIS. Please see below the various ways we let you know what is happening at Monett Intermediate School!
