Several Monett High School student-athletes have earned All-State recognition during the 2025-2026 winter sports season, reflecting their skill, dedication, and strong performance throughout the year. 

Earning All-State honors is a significant accomplishment. It represents countless hours of practice, perseverance through challenges, and a desire to grow on and off the court. These athletes have competed at a high level and represented Monett with integrity, teamwork, and pride.

Monett Middle School students were acknowledged for their accomplishments across several athletic programs and their success throughout the year. 

The 8th grade boys basketball team was recognized for a great season, finishing as the Big 8 Conference Champions. Coach Powell was also recognized for his impact across multiple sports and his upcoming retirement. His contributions over the years have supported countless student-athletes and helped shape strong programs across the district.

The girls wrestling program continues to build momentum as one of our newer athletic opportunities. In a short amount of time, the team has already positioned itself as a strong competitor at the conference level. Under the leadership of Coach Bahl, the program is creating new opportunities and encouraging students to step into something new with confidence.

The girls wrestling team had an exceptional season. Competing early in December, the team earned both the conference title and the conference tournament championship. 

As the wrestling program continues to grow, the focus remains on building comfort, skill, and confidence among athletes. Early success has revealed a great deal of talent within the group, and there is strong optimism moving forward. With a solid group of returning athletes and continued support from coaches, the future of the program is bright.

The Board of Education members took time to recognize and thank Annie Smith and Ashley Bailey for their service to the Monett School District. Their service and leadership has helped move our district forward. During their time on the board, they have consistently put students first and supported decisions that continue to strengthen our district and community. 

Serving on the board is not always easy. There are many responsibilities and decisions that happen behind the scenes, often unseen by the public. Our board members consistently approach this work with a focus on what matters most, making student centered decisions that support both our students and staff. 

We also extend our appreciation to all the board members, past and present, who have supported our schools, attended our events, and remained engaged with our district. Their service reflects a deep investment in our community. 

As shared during the board meeting, “serving on the board is both a privilege and an honor,” said Annie Smith. “It comes with the responsibility of working together, listening to one another, and keeping students at the center of every decision.”

We are thankful for each member who has chosen to serve and for the positive impact they continue to make in Monett.

The Monett School District is pleased to welcome newly elected Board of Education members, Ryan Nestleroad and Jennifer Lewis, along with returning board member, Jared Wormington. We are grateful for their willingness to serve our schools and the Monett community. By joining the board, these individuals are committing their time and expertise to ensure that our schools remain safe, innovative, and student focused.
