This year marks an incredible milestone as we celebrate 60 Years of Scott Tech and the impact Career and Technical Education has had on generations of students. February is also Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, making it the perfect time to reflect on the opportunities, growth, and success happening across our campus.

We have kicked off 2026 with tremendous momentum, highlighted by outstanding performances at District SkillsUSA and DECA competitions. Our students continue to demonstrate the skill, leadership, and professionalism that define Scott Tech.

Over the course of four days, we welcomed 790 eighth graders to campus for our annual tours. These visits give prospective students the opportunity to “pull back the curtain” and experience firsthand what Scott Tech has to offer. From exploring programs to interacting with instructors and current students, the tours help students make informed decisions as they prepare for scheduling and begin thinking about their future pathways.

Scott Tech’s Marketing students had an exceptional performance at DECA Districts. Of the 30 students representing our SRTC chapter, 26 returned with a total of 28 medals (1st, 2nd, or 3rd place). Every student competed with professionalism and pride, representing Scott Tech and their sending schools extremely well. Twenty-three students will advance to State in March, competing for DECA glass and the opportunity to attend the International Career Development Conference in April. Three students have already secured their spots in Atlanta!

Senior Randy Villa (Purdy High School) recently competed at the Missouri Welding Institute, going head-to-head with more than 170 competitors from across the region. Randy earned an impressive 3rd place finish, showcasing the high level of skill and preparation happening in our Welding program. We are incredibly proud of his accomplishment and the way he represented Scott Tech!

Our Early Childhood students continue to benefit from their hands-on experience at the MECC. Through classroom shadowing, they assist teachers in a variety of ways while building meaningful relationships with young learners. This opportunity allows them to take what they learn in class and apply it directly in a real classroom setting—strengthening both their skills and confidence.

In celebration of CTE Month, our Culinary Arts students baked and delivered cookies to our sending schools as a small token of appreciation. This simple gesture was an impactful way to thank our partner districts for sharing their students with us and supporting Career and Technical Education. We are grateful for the strong partnerships that make Scott Tech possible.

Our DECA Prep Day was truly “Totally Radical” as James Ackerman, founder of Quenchers, spent the day with our DECA Chapter. He shared the story behind the ideation of Quenchers and how it has grown into the brand it is today. Students engaged in an interactive Q&A session filled with open and honest conversation, gaining valuable insight into entrepreneurship, business growth, and what it takes to turn an idea into reality. Experiences like this help propel our students toward their own future endeavors.
