As we wrap up the semester and celebrate the holiday season, December has been a busy and meaningful month at Scott Tech. From welcoming future students through sophomore tours, to giving back through service projects, honoring outstanding students, and highlighting hands-on learning through internships, our students continue to shine both in and out of the classroom. We are proud of the hard work, generosity, and dedication shown across our campus as we close out the year and look ahead to an exciting new semester.

Scott Tech had the pleasure of hosting all of our sending school sophomores, along with Monett 5th graders, for campus tours. Students explored our classrooms and labs, learned about the hands-on opportunities Scott Tech offers, and began narrowing down which programs they may want to pursue in the future.

At the conclusion of their tour, sophomores were able to apply on the spot and enjoy fresh popcorn. A huge shoutout to our student representatives who did an outstanding job showcasing their programs and answering questions. We can’t wait to welcome these students back next year as Scott Tech students!

Our American Welding Society (AWS) Chapter met for their monthly meeting and put service into action. This month, officers and members organized a canned food drive to support a local cause—and they showed up in a big way.

We are proud of our AWS Chapter for leading with heart, lending a hand, and making a difference in our community. All donated food was given to Crosslines in Monett.

Scott Tech was honored to once again host our Annual Toy Drive in memory of former student Kadence Harris, whose kindness and spirit continue to inspire our school community.

All donated toys will be given to the Linn Thornton Toy Drive, helping bring joy to children throughout our community this holiday season. We even had a special guest stop by—Santa himself—spreading Christmas cheer as toys were collected.

We proudly recognized our Students of the Quarter! Each student was nominated by their instructor for demonstrating outstanding character, leadership, or work ethic. Congratulations to these students for their hard work and dedication.

Ben Orr, a student from Mt. Vernon High School in our Auto Technology Program, is completing his internship at Hills Automotive. The team at Hills Automotive is excited to work with Ben and help support the next generation of automotive technicians.

Damion Woods, a student from Monett High School, is interning with the Barry County Emergency Services E911. Damion is gaining hands-on experience while learning all aspects of emergency dispatch, allowing him to explore and grow within his area of interest.
