PTC & Summer School

Parents/Guardian,

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC) will be held on Monday, March 8, through Thursday, March 11. Spring conferences mainly focus on students who may be highly recommended to attend summer school or need additional support. Parent-Teacher Conferences are a great way to collaborate with the student's teacher and identify strengths and needs. Communication with teachers offers an excellent opportunity to help students meet their educational goals before the end of the school year.

Grades K-6: Teachers have been contacting parents to set up an appointment for PTC. Conferences may be held by phone, in person, or virtually. Parents who are not contacted but wish to meet with a teacher may call the school office to schedule a time.

Grades 7-12: Teachers have been contacting parents to set up an appointment for PTC. Students with deficient core standards (MMS) or low grades (MHS) would be highly recommended to attend summer school. Parents who are not contacted but wish to meet with a teacher may call the school office to schedule a time.

Summer School is from June 1 through July 1, with a day off each week. The first day of Summer School falls on a Tuesday. Students will attend from Tuesday-Friday the first week, and Monday-Thursday the last four weeks. Bus transportation will be provided for students in grades K-6 only.  Students will be able to earn up to $100 in a gift card for perfect attendance. Summer School enrollment forms will be available next week.

We are excited to offer two additional programs this summer:

  • Cub House Summer Workshop will be offered from 3:00–6:00 pm each day summer school is in session for grades K-6. Students will explore a variety of topics and interests each evening. Students will be provided with a FREE supper.

  • Cub House Friday Summer Experience will be offered on Fridays from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm when summer school is not in session. Students in this program will have field trip experiences and fun summer activities. Students will receive FREE meals.
  • Bus transportation will not be available for the Cub House Summer Workshop and Friday Summer Experience.

All summer school students will receive FREE meals. Additionally, students not enrolled in summer school will have the opportunity to continue picking up meals until July 1. All Monett children under the age of 18 qualify to receive free meals in the summer.

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact your child's respective school office.

Thank you,
