MMS Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

The Monett R-1 School District is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 15 for the new Monett Middle School.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm, marking the new Monett Middle School's official opening at 4 David Sippy Drive next to Scott Regional Technology Center. The ceremony will include speeches, a grand tour of the new school, and the official cutting of the ribbon. Parents, students, staff, and community members are invited to join the Monett R-1 School District to celebrate this milestone.

The new Monett Middle School combines innovative design with advanced technology, integrating diverse learning spaces that will inspire, engage, and challenge the students.

The Monett Middle School will feature modern classrooms incorporating the latest educational technology and security. In alignment with the district's dedication to safety, integrated security measures have been added, including secure entrances, surveillance cameras, and modern access safety control systems. Classrooms are designed to be collaborative classrooms with flexible class space to support students and focus on their strengths and talents. The media center and library will offer students a quiet place for reading and research, with an extensive collection of digital resources. The athletic facilities include a gymnasium, weight room, and fitness room. The cafeteria is designed to be a welcoming space, focusing on providing healthy, nutritious food options.

The Monett R-1 School District is committed to supporting students' mental health and academic success through counseling and support services. A special space has been designated for the school counseling department to provide valuable emotional and educational support.

"We thank the Monett community for supporting the construction of the new Middle School. Without the community's support, the realization of this project would not have been possible. The dedication to the district's growth has enabled us to foster a learning environment where every child can thrive," said Dr. Mark Drake. "The new Monett Middle School is not only a building but a testament to the strength of our community and our shared vision for a brighter future."

The Monett R-1 School District is looking forward to seeing the Monett community on August 15 as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
