Welding Technology

Welding Technology is a two-year program designed to advance the science, technology and application of the welding industry. The welding industry offers excellent opportunities for highly skilled technicians. The national outlook shows a severe shortage due to the retiring workforce. The Welding program is taught according to the American Welding Society (AWS) objectives and participates in the Schools Excelling through National Skill Standards Education (SENSE). This allows students to obtain a nationally recognized certification upon successful completion of the program, as well as a member of the SRTC AWS Student Chapter of the American Welding Society. 

The course offers study in Safety, Blueprint, Oxy Fuel Welding, Oxy Fuel- Cutting, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Plasma Arc Cutting, Carbon Arc Gouching, Lay Out- Fit up, Non- Destructive Testing, and Destructive Testing. 

Jumpstart your college degree! You can earn up to 16 college credit hours by enrolling in Welding Technology.
