This page was made possible by the students of Ms. Holbrook's class and some of Ms. Dalton's ELL class at Central Park Elementary. They began their work on this PBL (Project-Based Learning) project by gathering information about the FEMA approved tornado shelters to create this informational flier during this past school year (2016-2017).
The students' focus is to make sure the Monett community is prepared should the town be hit by a tornado. In addition to the flier, the students began a Facebook page and and Instagram account plus a publication in the Monett Times to help prepare for this type of disaster. (All are accessible from this page)
In the students' presentation to the Monett R-1 Board of Education, they asked the board to approve the use of the Monett High School parking lot as a relief base should disaster strike Monett. The board unanimously approved this.
Great job, students!
