• Two Dimensional Design

    Instructor: Ms. Lynn Morin 

    Two Dimensional art refers to artwork that is created primarily on a flat surface such as paper and canvas. In this course, students wills study media, techniques, and history associated with drawing, painting, and printmaking.

    Class Website: All parents and gaurdians are encouraged and invited to get weekly updates of your students assignments/grades and progress though our Google Classroom art pages. You will recieve an email after school starts inviting you to join the websites.

  • Community Service Day

    Community Service Day will be Thursday, May 19. We will have 25 students in four groups who will be window painting on Broadway Street, downtown. One group may be working with Shawn Maxwell on a Historical Monett Mural, also located on Broadway Street. First come, first serve, if you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible.   • Senior Art Show

    Senior Art Students, We will begin setting up the Senior Art Show, Monday May 9, Tuesday May 10 and Wednesday May 11, during Art classes and after school. We will need to take down the Art Show after Baccalaureate Wednesday night because the PAC Lobby will be used the next day. You will need to take your art work home after Baccalaureate. It will be up to you to hang the work in a professional manner. I will help you but it will be your placement and if you need to mat I will help you. You will need to make your tags that identify your work and if you choose to make an artist's statement explaining and giving information about why you create what you do, etc. Pick out your art work this week and we will put your work together in a safe…

  • End of the Year Check Out in Art

    Hello Art Students, You will begin to receive your art work from the year this A and B Day, (the exception will be what you are currently creating) and Seniors will be having an Art Show, May 11 and need to keep their work in the art room. I must turn in any outstanding fees by Wednesday, May 4th. If you have taken home palettes, brushes any supplies,  you need to return by this Wednesday, thank you. In order to be checked out in Art you will need to clean out your cupboard, wash palletes and put away supplies.   • Senior Art Show

    The Senior Art Show will be Wednesday, May 11 at the Baccalaureate Program in the foyer of the PAC building. Please be choosing your most important art work to show and we will be setting it up prior to the 8:00 PM Program. We will concentrate on your exhibition as soon as we complete the Big 8 Art Show.

    The Big 8 Art Show will be at Aurora High School Gym Friday, April 29, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM and Saturday, April 30, 9:00 AM - 12 PM. Aurora High School is located at 305 W.   • 2016 CASA Winning Artists

    The Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) of Southwest MO selected 10 wonderful designs to be used throughout the year for various promotions. MHS had two winning pieces of art work by Brianna Murphy and Maddy Mayes they each received a lovely certificate and a $25 check and myself as their teacher.   • Art Student Seniors

    Art student seniors your Progress Report grades will be imported by 8:00 AM on Monday, April 25. These Progress Report grades will determine the top 10% of your graduating class. All of the Art classes have the rest of the year assignments and their due dates on your art class calendar,  make sure you're up to date with your art projects.

  • MAEA Student Art Exhibit, St. Louis, MO

    The Missouri Art Education Association Spring Conference was held April 7, 8, and 9 in St. Louis, MO. The Student Exhibition had eight MHS art students represented; Ashley Batson, Magali Sandoval, Yasmin Serrano, Maddy Brannon, Andrew Phillips, Cristin Jones, Anna Pham, and Maddy Lee who received an Honorable Mention.

  • Youth Art Month

    The four Monett R-1 District Art Teachers took art students and their art work to the state capitol in Jefferson City, MO, March 24, 2016. 10th grade student artists Brianna Murphy and Wendy Cabrera along with Anna Pham and Aileen Murillo attended. Ashley Batson was unable to attend, nevertheless her art work was on display along with Brianna and Wendy.

  • MSSU Art Visit

    Students let me know if you're interested in attending a presentation from Missouri Southern State University Art visit on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1:50-2:00 PM, the beginning of 15th mod, B day. The presentation will be in the art room on portfolios, scholarships, etc. MSSU will have an art day you will be able to attend on Oct. 30.

  • Crystal Bridges Museum

    Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Field Trip scheduled for Monday, November 23, 2015, "Art In the Round," students you will need two parents/guardians to attend, this will be something you need to provide and they must have a background check on file. This Field Trip we will be out of school all day and is required and will be for a grade an assignment.

  • Extra Credit

    Attend the Performing Arts Center (PAC) opening Thursday, September 10, 7 PM to listen to the Ozark Orchestra, MHS Band, MHS Choir, MHS Drama and Speech and MHS Fine Art work. Sign up and your art class and mod day with Mrs. Morin for a practice grade (25 points).
