Ms. Tabitha Carroll

My name is Tabitha Carroll. This year will be my second year teaching at Monett High School.

I teach Drama and Advanced Drama, which are performance-based classes that examine the actor's role in addition to the creative team in theatrical production, as well as Intro to Theatre for students with special needs. I also teach Stagecraft and Costuming & Stage Makeup, which are backstage-driven classes, and focus on the artistic design and application of technical theatre. I direct the fall play and spring readers theatre/one act plays for competition, and am also an assistant speech and debate coach.

I grew up in Camdenton, MO, and was heavily involved in theatre, speech and debate, band, and choir. I truly found my home with the arts, and my goal as an educator is to bring that sense of community to all of my students. After high school I studied musical theatre performance at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, and worked as an actor for several years before realizing my call to be a teacher. I am now earning my Master of Arts in Teaching at Missouri State University, and plan to graduate in August, 2020.

There are so many wonderful opportunities in the year ahead for our students to be involved in our drama department, whether as a performer, technician, or audience member! I can't wait to share this year with all of you. Check back here soon for information about upcoming auditions and behind-the-scenes roles!
