• Painting at Joplin Art Walk

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Theresa Wallsmith formerly known as Ms. Cosby and taught art at Carl Junction Junior High for the past 12 years. I am excited to begin my 13th year of teaching art in Monett! This year I will be teaching Pottery and Art & Design.

I was born and raised in the Broken Arrow/Tulsa, Oklahoma. I received my Bachelors from Pittsburg State University in 2005 and then my Masters of Art in Teaching at Missouri State University in conjunction with Missouri Southern State University in 2007.

My husband and I have four boys between us and we live in Carthage, MO. Two of the boys are recently married, one is engaged and the youngest just learning to spread his wings! I did recently have a home in Pittsburg, KS where I raised my son while teaching in Carl Junction, finishing my degrees and being an active artist in the community. In 2013 I completed my first mural and since then have continued to be involved in community through projects with the SEK Art Fest. The mural is on 5th and Broadway in downtown Pittsburg. Feel free to check out my website to see some of the works I have created over the years. Click here: <top>

In addition to being an active artist, I have hiked and camped at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and I love to travel! With an empty nest, my husband and I enjoy our time visiting flea markets, going to Kansas City Chief games and NASCAR races.

I am excited about the new school year and I can't wait to meet you!
